L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil

A while back I received a little sample bag when I made a purchase at Sephora.  One of the samples inside was L'Occitane's Almond Shower Oil.  I had never tried a shower oil in place of a normal shower gel or cream, so I gave it a whirl.  It was so amazing, and I savored my little sample of golden oil for as long as humanly possible.  I really like nutty scents for fall and winter, so with the arrival of autumn I picked up the full size of the Almond Shower Oil which retails at $25.00 for 8.4 oz.

First off this stuff smells amazing, but as with many L'Occitane products the scent is not overly strong and overpowering.  For anyone who enjoys nutty scents you have to give this a try.  It contains grape seed oil, almond oil, and several other essential oils that give it a heavenly scent.  It of course smells mainly of almond with a bit of honey, although there is no honey in the product.  It also has a subtle fresh floral scent from the bergamot and rosemary leaf essential oils in the product.

On top of the smell, it feels so luxurious on your skin.  I know one might imagine being left all greasy after using a shower oil, but that is not the experience you get with this product at all.  When you rub it into your skin it creates a rich creamy foam.  It does not foam up as much a traditional shower gel, and the consistency is thin so you really need to use it with a loofah.  It just feels so silky smooth and hydrating on your skin.  The lady at the L'Occitane store said you can also use it as a shaving cream.  I haven't used it in this way but I can see how it would work well for shaving as it does give some slip to the skin.  After rinsing off you are left with clean, super soft skin that smells amazing!  I brought along L'Occitanes Jenipapo Shower Oil on a little trip this summer and my boyfriend and sister ended up using it.  Both of them commented on how luxurious it felt to use.

I HIGHLY recommend this shower oil, it makes your shower experience smell and feel like total luxury!  What bath products do you turn to come fall?

Till Next Time,
Stephanie Rose

  1. Great product description, I will have to try this. My favorite shower "hack" is to shave with coconut oil, it leaves my legs really soft and it is eco-friendly 😊
